New CNC machine
VP Metall AS has installed a new Mazak 250MSY CNC machine.

Change of ownership
Lagercrantz Group AB has purchased and become new owner of VP metall AS.
VP metall is the market leader in the area of ​​Explosion Luminaires and also has an established position as a mechanical production company in Raufoss Industrial Park at Raufoss.

Stronger together
Development of aluminum power line posts.

In an article in Business Inland 2017 we say, among other things: “It is a strength that the companies in the network complement each other. We must exploit the good cooperation in the network and adapt products to the customers. In the network in general, we focus on developing our own products and product concepts that can provide greater value creation than just being a subcontractor with squeezed margins. ”

A current project now is the development of aluminum power line posts developed by Lena Metall AS where VP metal has been central to the development of accessories for aluminum posts such as climbing shoes, fall protection, line hangings and peg mounts.​
​
The project will continue into 2017. VP Metal has had the help of tax discoveries to finance the project.

The equipment was acquired in 2016 and we consist of Mazak Nexus 510C-II with ABB robot and SVIA cell.

Production of some of our own articles was transferred to this cell. The effect has been a great improvement on both quality and the environment in relation to how we produced the parts before. Operations such as grinding, cutting, drilling and milling are performed completely in the new machine. The quality has improved. Time consumption is reduced and capacity increased. And, not least, the working environment including ergonomics is much better taken care of.
